We took a bus out of Dublin the next morning. I wasn’t sorry to leave
the crowds and car fumes and head into the countryside. Through a stressful,
but uninteresting, series of events, we had decided to visit Cork that night,
since our beds in Kilkenny had been accidentally double booked by our B&B
person and no more could be found. This worked out well, though. Cork is a quiet,
pretty harbor town with a cathedral and lots of flowers and ivy. I recuperated
a bit, and we got to wander around, do a little window shopping, and visit.
One of my favorite parts of his trip was the opportunity to catch up with an
old friend, and I felt like we got plenty of time to talk, which made the trip
worth it all by itself.
